7 may 2025: Workshop about Artificial Intelligence in the animal and pet food sector.

As you probably know, Feed Design Lab organizes several workshops or meetings every year. We noticed that there is a lot of interest in the field, but also uncertainty about the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the compound feed and pet food sector.

That is why Feed Design Lab organised a workshop on this topic for its partners on Wednesday 7 May.
More than 40 participants were welcomed by Stefan Kuijpers, after which Janou v.d. Vorst (ViaMagnefiek) introduced AI to the participants.

Next there were 5 presentations by partner companies. They explained what they already do with AI in their company, followed by a short question round. The speakers were:

  • Claudia Kamphuis and Dirkjan Schokker, WUR
  • René Smulders, CEO KSE
  • Wouter Kuijpers, General Manager Dinnissen Process Technology
  • Lenny van Erp-van der Kooij, Lecturer Animal Welfare and Technology, HAS Green Academy
  • Menno Thomas, Director Zetadec

Us usual the speakers had taken (and received) a little more time for their story, after which Janou vd Vorst did a wrap up using the smart app tool Menti-meter. The results of this will be used by Feed Design Lab for a follow-up of this AI workshop.

After Stefan Kuijpers had finished the workshop, everyone could enjoy warm sausage rolls and a drink at the network meeting.
