Report Business Meeting 8 November 2022 Feed Design Lab
On November 8, Feed Design Lab organized the annual Business meeting for its partner companies.
About 70 participants came to Wanssum for this. The program was opened at 4 pm by chairman Han Swinkels, after which director Trudy van Megen gave a presentation about the developments at Feed Design Lab. One of these developments is the declining demand for open enrollment courses and training, while the demand for custom-made training is increasing. Feed Design Lab will keep up with this trend and will increasingly provide tailor-made courses and training for the customer. Given the success of the popular Introduction training, it will be scheduled a few times a year. Furthermore, activities such as those organized for Young Feed Professionals, the Business Trip to UBM and Gsellman, various workshops, participation in the Victam fair and the Energy Day on 1 December were discussed.
Furthermore, Trudy van Megen indicated that Feed Design Lab has had a top year in terms of the occupation of the pilot plant. In short, Feed Design Lab has experienced good growth in the past year.
Guest speaker René Bonekamp from Schothorst Feed Research continued with his presentation entitled: Opportunity to be innovative again: Food for Feed, time to invest in animal feed!
René Bonekamp is senior researcher and product manager pigs at Schothorst and has built up worldwide experience in technical support, strategic nutrition and product development at various companies. René discussed circularity and the opportunities of new alternative protein sources and an interesting challenge: The more circular we are the stronger the license will be to produce!
Energy saving was also discussed, emphasizing the importance of the entire chain from raw material to feed conversion. Finally, the central role of the animal and the opportunities with precision feeding and dynamic feed valuation were discussed. The interesting presentation was much appreciated by those present.
Then it was time to network while enjoying a snack and a drink during the walking dinner and around 9 pm we ended this day with a satisfied feeling.
