Feed Design Lab report Business trip to Spain<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every two years, Feed Design Lab organizes a foreign business trip with its partners.
\nThe purpose of a business trip, in addition to visiting several interesting projects and (partner) companies, is mainly to network and get to know each other better.<\/p>\n

On September 16, the bus with 45 participants left Barcelona for the first destination: the new plant of Cincaporc in Fraga. During the bus trip, the participants introduced themselves to each other and Andritz gave an explanation about the new compound feed factory they built that we were visiting.<\/p>\n

Cincaporc is a pig production and integration company with currently 8 own farms, more than 300 integrated farms and 2 own feed plants. Cincaporc manufactures their own feed for the self-sufficiency of their (integrated) farms. Currently, they have a feed factory in Fraga (Huesca), which produces 1000 tons per day. Cincaporc build a new feed factory located in the Fraga Logistics Platform (Huesca), which will expand daily production to 2,400 tons.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival in Fraga, a delicious lunch was ready to enjoy, thanks to Andritz. After lunch the tour in the new feed plant took place. We were all very impressed by this beautiful, efficient plant.<\/p>\n

Around 5 p.m. we were at the beautiful Parador de Lleida hotel for drinks, networking, dinner and overnight stay.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

On Tuesday morning there were 2 interesting presentations:<\/p>\n

  • Cincaporc gave a presentation about their pig integration in Spain, and went into more detail about the challenges and developments they see. The important conclusion we were able to draw was that expansion in pig farming in Spain is possible.<\/li>\n
  • Vall companies provided insight into the organisation and developments at this largest pig integration in Spain with a market share of more than 10%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Around 1 p.m. we arrived at the hotel near Lucta in the Barcelona aera for lunch. Lucta gave the group an interesting insight into their company, their products and growth and development for the future.<\/p>\n

    Lucta is a global company based in Barcelona that produces fragrance, flavor and additives for animal feed. They design high-end & holistic solutions for Food & Taste, Fast to Market Fragrances, Feed Intake Behavior, Efficiency & Animal Welfare. In addition to animal nutrition, they are also active in the food and pharmaceutical industry.<\/p>\n

    After the lunch we visited Lucta’s production location for dry feed applications in Barcelona, were they have the head office, application and analytical labs, factories, storage of raw materials and ready products.<\/p>\n

    Impressed by this innovative company, the group left for Barcelona Airport around 5 p.m. and it was already time to say goodbye. We can look back on an interesting trip, with company visits and presentations where a lot of knowledge was gained, which involved plenty of networking, new valuable contacts and, above all, a lot of fun. We look forward to the next trip in 2026!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
